Renovating the shower enclosure

This project began when a homeowner wanted to remodel their shower. However, when they removed the old tile, they discovered horrific dry rot damage from a leaking, improperly installed window.

The damage extended from the window frame to the subfloor, requiring a complete repair of the subfloor and window frame.

After the frame was replaced, new insulation was installed in the subfloor and shower walls.

On the exterior, a new moisture barrier and multiple layers of flashing ensure that the window will never leak again! New stucco was then installed and textured to match the existing.
